Dr. Kayla Vaquera Barrett became a dentist because she wanted to help people feel better about themselves. Science and art have always fascinated her, too, and dentistry combines them into a great public service.
Dr. Barrett graduated from Texas A&M University magna cum laude in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science. She went on to receive her DDS degree from Texas A&M College of Dentistry in 2011, where she was on the Dean’s Honor List and received the General Dentistry Program Award.

As for her favorite part of being a dentist, Dr. Barrett enjoys seeing patients leave the office feeling like new and more optimistic people because their dental needs and desires have been met. She is excited about joining Dossett Dental and is looking forward to serving the community.
A proud local Texan, Dr. Barrett loves that her patients are her neighbors. She enjoys getting to know them and seeing their personalities in addition to taking care of their teeth.
In her spare time, Dr. Barrett takes her son on adventures, including camping and fishing. She is eagerly awaiting the day that he is old enough to go scuba diving. Dr. Barrett has also been crocheting since childhood and enjoys making warm hats for the babies in the local NICU.
I got into dentistry because I wanted to help people smile. I wanted to give people back their confidence who had lost their confidence in some way. The most rewarding part about being a dental provider is having people come in, either in pain or less confident in themselves, and leave with a smile, leave pain-free, and knowing that they’re gonna have a better life after they leave our office.

This is an outstanding Dental Clinic. The cleanings are thorough and performed with your comfort front of mind. The crown and fillings I needed were perfectly, fast and efficiently finished under the deft hands of Dr. Barrett. Her leadership with her young assistants and the hygenists is exemplary.

I have always had bad teeth and dental problems. I have visited several dentist’s in my life and in my experience this office and dentist is one of the very best.
I was almost a year overdue for a cleaning. I ended up with a deep cleaning and it was the best dental visit I’ve ever had. Leila was amazing and so kind. Can’t wait to go back in three months and show them how I applied everything they taught me. I have a lot of dental anxiety, but this visit was more comforting than expected.
