I always like using my hands and I wanted to find a career where I can use my hands and also do something that would provide me an education lifelong. And dentistry affords that for me. Where I love working with my hands, always did a lot of fixing stuff when I was growing up. And then, dentistry is another profession where you have to keep up with your education and that helps me provide the best care for my patients and also do something where I can help my people and humanity and stuff like that.
Dentistry, it's a profession where you get to start with the beginning product and see the end result in a pretty steady fashion. And it's not like you treat one part, one aspect of the patient's mouth, and then you don't really see the other parts. You get to see the whole result at the end. And it's rewarding for me, so I like that.
I went to undergrad in UC San Diego in La Jolla, California. Love the atmosphere, it's relaxing and got me into a state where I can focus. And went to Rutgers, New Jersey dental school for my doctorate program and got my training there. After that, I did a one-year residency at Newark Beth Israel Hospital and got a lot of experience there doing a hospital residency, treating patients that are possibly critically ill, have big surgeries that they need to take care of a lot of stuff in their mouth before getting the surgery, and seeing a lot of trauma cases come in and being able to treat that as a general dentist.
And after that, I did a two-year NYU implant program in the city and got a lot of training there as well. And then, I also kept up with all my other continuing education courses and have close to a thousand hours of continuing education after dental school. So I'll be on track for my second fellowship soon.
Dr. Dennis Lee has been a member of the Dossett Dental team since 2019, but he began practicing in 2010. In addition to graduating from dental school with a DMD, Dr. Lee has completed the NYU Implant Program.
Dr. Lee became a dentist so that he could help other people, and he’s been doing that every day since. Patients love coming to see Dr. Lee because he takes the time to make sure they are comfortable with efforts like painless injections and spends time talking with his patients.
When Dr. Lee isn’t busy helping patients have a relaxing appointment, you might find him working on projects around his house.
